| I visited the 'refurbished' Red Lyon last week and found it a rather disappointing experience, having visited the Pub under its previous management. There was clearly a lack of staff - one young lady to serve and fetch and take, which she did very well, but it needed at least one other waiter. The food was acceptable but by 7.30pm most of the specials had gone, and the kitchen stopped serving at 8.50pm! My wife had a 'Home made Pie' which was said to contain Chicken, Bacon and Mushrooms but all we found were mushrooms and lots of liquid. When we queried it with the waitress she spoke to the kitchen staff and came back to advise us that the chicken had beeen 'shredded into the pie'! Not very appetizing and we didn't pay for her meal. Only three desserts at £3.95 for a slither of cheescake or gateaux, not particularly good value. This pub needs to get its act together or 'food' customers will vote with their feet. One party left as we arrived muttering about waiting over an hour for food and still not getting any! (PS.
