Dating back to 1815, the pub was once known as The Lion, and in the 1840s seats were placed along the riverbank to admire the scenery. The area surrounding the pub is steeped in history - Queen Elizabeth was imprisoned in nearby Bisham Abbey and it was here that Henry VIII first beheld the unfortunate Lady Jane Grey. After a busy day observing many of the local attractions you will be happy to sit and enjoy a delightful meal full of freshly prepared ingredients such as Slow Cooked Shoulder of Lamb, daily fresh fish dishes and Homemade Pie of the Day. The menu at the Red Lyon boasts several fantastic dishes as well as a great choice of fine wines and cask ales. The Red Lyon is a stylish pub with a contemporary twist.
