There are literally hundreds of pubs in England called The Rose and Crown - but Lea's is one that stands out from the crowd. Built as a pub in 1819, but if it seems to have changed little since then on the surface, rest assured that the Rose and Crown is geared up for the demands of modern pub-goers who expect comfortable accommodation, fine food and a welcome for families. It even has award winning toilets! A single bar pub which is split up into intriguing alcoves and corners, the pub specialises in quality food with an a la carte menu in the evenings and snacks at lunchtime. You will find plenty of variety too, with themed evenings - like curry night and pasta night - making the choice even greater. Children are always welcome at the Rose and Crown and on warmer days they make a beeline for the pub's large garden and play equipment. Generally a pub with a quieter atmosphere, the Rose and Crown lets its hair down once a month for an evening of live music and also caters for parties and receptions in the function room. There are plans for a skittle alley too. Lea's Rose and Crown is certainly a pub worth finding - and if you can find the little hamlet of Lea, then you will also find the pub. From Swindon, turn off the B4042 just before you reach Malmesbury.
