Since the 1800’s London Road has been extremely busy resulting in a successful trade for the pub from weary travellers stopping to rest on their journey. The pub's first registered licensee was a local labourer, John Goldhall, who following the introduction of the Beer House Act in 1830, commenced the brewing and selling of his own beer from the property. The inn has been known as the Windmill since 1855 when it was first registered in the local trade directory. Windlesham is a beautiful village in the borough of Surrey Heath. The historic towns of Farnham and Guildford are within easy reach while major attractions including Legoland, Windsor Castle, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures are a short drive away. There are two beautiful, large parks to enjoy in the vicinity – Frimley Lodge Park, which has canalside walks, and Lightwater Country Park, which has large areas of protected heathland. Guests will be able to browse a new menu which includes a wide variety of freshly prepared classic pub dishes such as Slow Cooked Shoulder of Lamb, daily fresh fish dishes and Homemade Pie of the Day. There is also a separate lunch menu offering freshly made sandwiches and salads, perfect if you’re just nipping in for a quick bite. Look out for the blackboard showing today’s specials, and the thoughtfully selected range of delicious vegetarian options. There is an extensive wine selection to compliment the menu as well as a variety of continental lagers. There is no need to book, just come in and we'll look after you. Windmill boasts a stylish interior which adds to the traditional charm and character of the building. Features include roaring open fires, low beam ceilings and several cosy but contemporary areas to relax in. Guests will get great, friendly service in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
