Managed Pub. The Bear was built in 1894 by William Stephens Clark, the eldest son of James Clark, co-founder of the famous Clarks Shoes Company. The interior has been beautifully refurbished to return the hotel to its former Victorian style. The Bear has 25 bedrooms, decorated by an interior designer to make the rooms feel like home from home, and employing four unique themes of Earth, Wind, Fire and Water.
