| Under new management, the Malt Shovel is still a splendid country pub, serving excellent cask ale (the landlord has awards for his beer keeping) and superb food from a varied menu at very sensible prices. The Bressingham duck and the pork fillet dishes are especially highly recommended, both served with magnificent chef's sauces. Vedgetables were plentiful and perfectly cooked. The welcome is warm and friendly and, staying in the village for a week, we were never tempted to eat or drink anywhere else in the evenings.[Report for Removal] | Dr R. | Good food, served hot with lots of vegetables. Portions very generous and the menu offers a good variety of options. The prices are excellent given the quality of the food and service. Very impressed. Highly recommended.[Report for Removal] | David Leyburn North Yorkshire |
