| We called into Easingwold on our way to York races this Saturday. As we drove down the main street into Easingwold, we noticed a pretty average looking pub with lovely flowers outside. However, average is not what you find as you walk through the door. Wow! What a revelation! Its not what we expected. A Modern, but still very characterful interior with leather sofas and almost a moorish feel and a traditional bar. The pub was really busy with people eating, but the staff were still friendly & welcoming, having time to chat and talk us through the menu. We ordered from an £8.95 set menu which included a glass of wine or beer in the price and sat in their lovely beer garden to eat our meal. When the food came,it was lovely fresh food & proper chips, not a frozen burger or chip in sight. The surroundings are fantastic, the staff were lovely and the food was fab, I just wish it were on my doorstep, but we will definitely be back on our next trip to York.
