| Under New Management now a lot has changed. Great friendly pub with charismatic landlord and landlady. Music friendly with great live acts and fab old fashioned rock n roll mixes from the resident team nightly. Huge food portions at great value with the Sunday bin lid a must, finish it if you dare! Was there on holiday for a weekend and had a really lovely welcoming time. Good mix of local residents and holidaymakers, set in a beautiful spot right on the river, just the chillout I needed. | Absolutely terrible definitely sums this place up! I have never written a bad review before, but feel that others must be warned. Myself, my husband and two other couples arranged a trip to the races a few months ago. We booked into another establishment in Boroughbridge. My parents then decided to come with us - it was their wedding anniversary and it seemed to be a good way to celebrate it. Unfortunately, where we were booked was full, so we booked them in at the Anchor. Same price as we were paying - £60 b&b per night. Their room was absolutely disgusting! I can't even begin to describe what it was like. We did complain, but the 'manager' was away, so no-one seemed to have any authority or inclination to do anything about it. Even the breakfast left alot to be desired, the tea arrived with globules of grease floating on the top. Not a place that we would recommend. [Report for Removal] | Maria Higgins Pudsey w yorkshire |
