| I live in great Ouseburn...and am a regular at the Crown Inn. The above suspiciously reads as if written by an ex owner...the Gills!!! Ha ha should they not be concentrating on their own place?! A nearby pub who presumably feels threatened by the new owners at the Crown. As regulars of the Crown I can quite positively say it is fantastic! Bring back the Gills, I hope not! Liz and Paul have done a fantastic job of restoring a closed down pub to a real country pub with tasty and beautifully presented food! The atmosphere is warm and friendly and nothing is too much trouble for the staff there. This is not just my opinion, they have just won Best Food Pub (York Press Pub awards) and is Welcome to Yorkshire's (Yorkshire's Tourist Board)Yorkshire Pub of The Year 2011....I think that says it all! | I dined at The Crown Inn at Ouseburn for the first time since it had been re-opened to find that it had completely changed; unfontunately the fantastic homely pub grub, friendly welcome and fantastic atmosphere that I loved has now been replaced by a very disappointing menu and service.
