| My friend and I were nearing the end of a long days walking on the Coast to Coast - we had stopped at the public benches opposite the Arncliffe Arms for a bite to eat. The landlady of the Arncliffe Arms came over to us and was very rude and looking for an argument - my friend and i are in our 40's, and i think she was hoping to intimidate us away from her pub, she did comment that it did not look good us eating on the benches with our rucksacks on the grass. it had been our intention to call in for a pint before making our way to Grosmont - The Station Tavern and our campsite for the night. we did not bother with a drink as did not feel at all welcome at this pub - the Arncliffe Arms. steer clear and get a great welcome 3 miles further down the trail.[Report for Removal] | iain doncaster yorksire |
