We have visited Rosedale for many years on our family camping trips, always having a meal and drinks at this establishment during our stay. However, after visiting it this weekend for my husbands birthday we have decided to boycot it on future weekends away. We have always found The Coach House to be a good place to rendezvous but alas no more... We were a party of 8 adults and 1 child aged 7, and went on Saturday 25th April around 8pm,just to break the night up,and were immediately told by the owner that children had to lwave by 9-30pm. No problem we thought, we only wanted a few drinks anyway, again the owner came over to us at 9-15pm and said 'kids out by 9-30'in a very unfriendly manner and started to clear the table while we were still sat there! We explained we were about to leave and were just finishing our drinks, and were told ' 9-30..its simple'. Considering the only other people in there was a wedding party, who decided to sit in the family room despite not having any children with them they were keen to turn down our custom. Considering the pub is smack bang in the middle of 2 campsites, you think they would be more' family friendly'. The previous owners had a loft space playroom for children to keep them occupied, and as long as they were well behaved, there was no time limit. Anyway, the next day for sunday lunch we decided to walk to the pub half way up Chimney Bank, and what a different reception we got. The landlady and staff were very friendly and had time to chat to us, when we asked what time children could stay till on an evening, we were told they could stay till whenever they like. The food was delicious home cooked and served with a smile...so on our next visit, we know which establishment will be getting our money. [Report for Removal] Lyn Hewling
