| Excellent real ale but the food and service is pretty bad, visited last Tuesday with several friends, ordered Smokey as a starter which turned out to be a packet cheese sauce which swamped a few flakes of smoked white fish, main course was Lamb shoulder with mash , mint gravy was nice but the lamb was like what you get at Iceland or Farm Foods, essentially a band sawed perfectly formed 1 inch thick slab around 4 inches in diameter, could have not been a shoulder cut, it was cooked like a burger and was dry and tough. Service was bad , i had pushed the remains of my meal away by the time the last in our party was being served. Order was wrong, cook then inspected everyones meal to see who was eating the wrong meal then we were lectured on the difference between Sirloin and rump. | You have got to visit this place !! The food is of the best quality, home cooked to perfection. The Ivy house offers seperate drinking and dining areas with a waitres run restaraunt. The home made steak in ale pie even boasts a freshly made pastry lid. Of all the pubs in the Walsall / Bloxwich area this has got to be the diners delight.
