| We simply cannot understand this place. It looks great, the food is generally decent, but organisation and customer care are decidedly variable. This place has the potential to be a venue for a thoroughly enjoyable meal experience, but fails. We have visited the pub/restaurant on a couple of previous occasions with mixed results, but last night was the last time for us. To cut a long and sad story short, the manager and kitchen team succeeded in ruining a birthday celebration with consistently poor service and very bad attitude. Our party arrived at approx 4.30pm and we finally departed at approx 8pm, very dissatisfied with the shambolic and don't care so-called customer service on offer. We eventually received discounts on our meals after repeated problems and delays (one member of the group never even got a main meal). We will be taking this further with the company. Obviously people have enjoyed their dining experiences here, and maybe we were unlucky, but with the exception of a couple of staff members, we were completely underwhelmed by the D-Team. | Absolutely appalling service, we will never be eating there again and have taken the matter further with there head office. Do not go there, we where condescended to by the staff, the manager is a hypocritical moron who has absolutely no comprehension of good customer service. | Our first visit to Tumbledown since it's refurbishment, I must admit we were impressed with the decor & ambience, a good start to our evening, getting better, has the service prior to our meal was first class. Then came the meals, what a disaster, don't get me wrong the food was OK (Chips overcooked) but the presentation of the meals was terrible the food was thrown on the plates, my meal which was the dearest on the night was a sirloin steak, chips and onion rings (do not like mushrooms) what I got was a plate of over-ccoked chips with the steak placed on the top with two onion rings, where! was the side salad even a spoonful of peas would have made the presentation better The meal cost £11.00 but looked like a meal costing only £2.50, what a let down. | We are making our second visit to this pub tonight as we enjoyed it so much the first time and it is quite a ride from where we live - but well worth it! Food is excellent and the ambience is lovely! Such excellent value for money.
