| Hi, I am now 71 years old but from 1947-1950ish my dad Charles Gudgeon was the licensee of the Whinney and had a cocktail bar which was known as "The Spivvery". My two older sister served in the Smoke Room (men only then!) and the tap room. There was also the "jug and bottle" where some older customers used to sit and drink. This was known as the "Nanny hole". Lovely bowling green at the back where our two dogs dug a huge hole! Wonder if this place has changed much since then. Any news would be nice.[Report for Removal] | Pat Castleton Dover Kent |
