| Visited the Black Horse this evening because we didn't fancy cooking. We have dined here many times before and overall it used to be a pleasnt meal. The last few times though have steadily got worse both in terms of service and food quality. I wasn't too happy about the barman standing chatting on his mobile while I waited to be served, only breaking off when another customer told him I was waiting. Then when the food arrived it wasn't very appealing, - Tasteless batterered dark meat Cod with frozen chips and a dessert spoonful of peas. Having eat most of the fish I found something sticking in my throat. At first I thought it was a fishbone but after extracting it I noticed it shining. It looked to be a piece of wire from a pan scourer. I showed it to the manageress and though she was mildly apologetic she refused to accept responsibility, blaming suppliers of the fish. Now I've never worked in a kitchen but at home I always wash fish before cooking, so I don't think blaming suppliers is appropriate.
