| After finding a seat and deciding what to eat I made my way to the food counter. A member of staff was behind the counter. I obviously saw the opportunity to order and tried to, only to be told 'by the assistant manager' - "that bar staff could be found behind the bar"! No wonder the venue seemed so dysfunctional with such a team player in charge. The food arrived looking as if the local Scout Group had prepared it - thrown in a heap and burnt. My apologies to anyone who did have a good experience at the Romper, but no attempt was made to rectify our issues after we brought them to the attention of staff. | I went to the pub last night with my partner and have to say that we were very disappointed. We had a lovely glass of wine but the food left a lot to be desired, the salmon was overcooked and the veg/potatoes were burnt. When we told the waitress she explained that the chef was new and it was his first nigh, she said she would speak to the assistant manager - she didn't though so we left and will not be returning.
