| We previously visited this pub/restaurant on a number of occasions and were impressed by the food, setting and wine list. We therefore had no qualms about booking for a celebratory family lunch. After Sun 4th Feb, I'm sorry, not again. Our party was comprised of 10 adults and 3 children, the majority of whom are knowledgeable about food and cooking. Some of the food quality and freshness was suspect to say the least, the service was haphazard and seemingly unable to cope with a large party. We waited inordinate lengths of time between courses, perhaps an indication of the kitchen's inability to cope also. There was an interesting menu note about the behaviour expectations for young diners. Ours did extraordinarily well in trying circumstances. | Poor & very delayed service(waited an hour before we got served desserts). Unfit Ham & Chicken Terrine(sent back by my partner who is a chef). Dirty glasses, rust stained bottles, deep fried roast potatoes, not rib of beef as stated on menu, poor veggie choice-two florets & carrots, reheated lamb, little to no crakling with pork, soup luke warm.Staff just standing around & didn't seem very well trained-lack of guidance Desserts however showed better quality.[Report for Removal] | Astrid Bowman Woking Surrey |
