| Whenever we visit the Lizard area we always make a detour for lunch and visit the Shipwrights Arms. The welcome and ambience were always superb and the crab salad to die for.We were entertaining family in Cornwall for one week in February and once again made the detour to Helford and The Shipwright Arms - what a mistake!Evidently it has changed ownership with disasterous consequences. Alas our crab salad was no longer served and we had to make do with a sandwich at £8.In addition the pub was unwelcoming and the ambience non existant.We were so embarrassed because we had spoke so highly of the pub to our guests .Readers of this review can be assured that this was the last visit we will make to this hostelry![Report for Removal] | Jeff Bideford Devon |

| We visited this pub a couple of weeks ago for a light lunch time snack. We ordered 2 ham baguettes (the cheapest items on the menu). They were distinctly average to say the least, and they cost £16 for the two. There was very little in the way of garnish and no chips or crisps. How CAN the Shipwrights's Arms justify such a cost. They were worth £4 each maximum. And to cap it, the place was dingy and unwelcoming and the seats were ripped. Needless to say - we wont be back.[Report for Removal] | dennis Darlington durham |
