| I have visited this pub for a drink and meal on a number of occasions whilst staying with family in the area. I have always found it homely enough. It's a nice old building and the landlady is doing a decent job of modernising it slowly on a limited budget. I agree with a previous observation that the 'Gents' toilet could do with improving, but that's not a major issue and I expect it will be dealt with soon. The food on the other hand, has in my experience always been very good and not overpriced. I'd say £9.00 for some of the best fish & chips you'll ever find is reasonable in my experience. The beer is well kept and I always look forward to a nice crisp pint of lager here. I find the locals and the management friendly enough and I'd certainly recommend this pub to anybody visiting the area. | visited the pub on easter sunday whilst on a ramble. Decided to have a snack. French onion soup, bread and butter - £5.95!!!! A rip off. They even ruined the soup by putting a wadge of cheapo grated cheese in the soup. It tasted awful. Coupled with a glass of flat, warm, tasteless bitter, the lunch was overpriced and very dissapointing. They obviously only cater for the rich green/yellow wellie brigade who seem to infest every corner of Cornwall these days. But thats not the worst! The toilets - both men's and women's - were DISGUSTING. Dirty, smellie, no, not smellie, - STINKING. No handwashing facilities in the men's, which was just an open trough in a lean-to shed and no WC. Such a tragic difference from when we last visited a few years ago. It is an awful blemish on such a beautiful village.[Report for Removal] | lees walsall west mids |
