| wow, this is a truely awful pub.The decor looks tired, there is no ambience. The food is expensive and very poor quality. We went there last night, to be greeted by very loud music and locals happily swearing in the bar. We were roughly shown where the restrauant is located and found we were the only ones there. Not a good sign! The bar maid gave us menus, well three of us had menus the forth was given the wine list. As we were deciding on what to have a scruffy foreign gentleman came to us waving a piece of paper saying " due to delivery problems we could only have mince and onions at £4-00, nothing else available" As none of us wanted this we were about to leave. At this point he thought there were a few other things on the menue which he thought he could do. ie all of the stuff he had in the freezer. Two of us had steak and stilton pies advertised as best pies in the world !!!! decided lacking on the stilton. The veggies that came with the pies must have been cooking since the morning and looked very tired on the plate. The gravy was brown coloured water. All for £12-95. I had Scampi these came out like little rock hard bullets and very small portions. For £10.95. When the chef took our order he had his coat on and when he delivered our order he still had his coat on. We presume he also cooked our food with his coat on. We wouldn't recommend this pub to anyone. We paid the best part of 50 quid for what should have been about 20 quid for the lot.[Report for Removal] | Graham Polegate East Sussex |
