| I've been to this pub twice before. The first time in 2006 everything was well above average, the second time 2007, the wine was warm (they said they knew the fridges were not cooling the wine properly but that they were due for a refurb and all would be well after that) we got an ice bucket so no real problem. Food was average. Nearly one year later Aug 08 we tried again but this time the wine was warm again (same excuse). Roast potatoes were off the menu at 4pm (they serve up to 9pm so why not cook more?) I had the lamb curry which was quite good but my g/f had crab cakes with salad plus sides of veg of the day + plate of chips. The salad consisted of limp iceberg lettuce, the 'fresh' veg of the day consisted of green beans and some sad looking carrots. All her 'hot' food was served barely warm. | Four of us went there on 16 July and whilst the pub is excellent the food is atrocious. My wife had the King Prawn Stir Fry which she sent back twice as the prawns were not cooked. In the end she gave up and changed her order. I had the Chicken Kiev which didnot have any garlic inside and had obvious been overcooked in a microwave and was almost inedible. The other two dishes, Fisherman Pie and the Thai Sea Bass just about received a pass. | Friends recommended this pub, which does have a nice atmosphere. It's a nice place to go for a drink, but I honestly wouldn't recommend it for a meal. I had the Sunday roast - and I don't want to eat at The White Hart again! The veg was mushy, and the roast potatoes weren't good(!) - in fact the whole meal was well below average. | The smoke free atmosphere and dining ambience are excellent with good parking. However the two times that I have been the food has been terrible. My Chicken Monte Cristo (ham/cheese inside chicken, crumbed) was tough and over cooked, my peas were overcooked and my chips were luke warm. My dessert of Baked Alaska came out with the meringue black on top and raw on the sides. As for the icecream, I make better myself! My partner however had great fish and chips.
