| Pretty much agree with the last review. If it's bog standard pub food you want, ie chips etc, everything's fine, good even. The main chef however seems a bit "odd" to put it mildly. He makes me feel very uncomfortable. As for the staff, as the last reviewer say's, hopeless. They're uninformed and ignorant, they all seem to have the same sort of dazed dumb look about them. I get the feeling the owners, wherever they are have absolutely NOT trained their staff at all. They just stand them there, and hope for the best. On the odd occasion that the landlady makes an appearance, she seems to either swan in to lord it over everyone, or just glare angrily at everyone. She makes you feel very uncomfortable, "don't mess with me"...horrible. As for the "games " room, it's never switched on, then of course you feel afraid to ask for it to be switched on. It always comes down to either the silent seething chef, or the glaring bullying landlady. If by some chance you do get things switched on, half of it is broken etc. Then of course you're too frightened to ask for your money back. They always claim everything works fine. It definitely doesn't, especially the juke box. They will never agree or understand that nothing works properly. They will hate you for asking about it, and the staff will stand there and claim everything works when it doesn't. The few regulars that come out late seem sort of trained into being dumbed down, don’t upset the chef or the landlady in other words. | The pub outwardly seems pretty good, nice restaurant area, nice carpets, clean, good games room, OK food.....and the actual owners aren't too bad when they're actually there. Unfortunately though they only seem to work there every now and then.The real trouble is, they seem to specialize in employing the cheapest, thickest morons for staff imaginable! I've been going there on and off now for years, and for year in, year out, the staff still do not know things like, the price of the same old wine (EVER), they still do not know where the light switches are (or care).....They nearly always add up the bill wrong (too much or too little)...The jukebox regardless, is NEVER on when you use it, consequently you always lose at least half the first track. "Excuse me, I don't think the jukebox is on", "uuuuh, oh it is, huuu", "no, really, I really don't think it is, could you please check", "er oh, in a minute, sorry I don't where the er haaa ha er".....Nightmare ! The male chef seems to be some sort of tantrum throwing 40ish year old child, don't even look! (The food however, is OK) There seems to be absolutely no management or communication between anyone there whatsoever! I really do not think the staff there would ever be able to manage or communicate anyway! The older slimmer of the Wednesday girls is the jewel in the crown. Honestly, I'm amazed it can even walk, it seems either permanently severely stoned or has brain damage.....don't believe me, exaggerating? Go and see for yourself.....zombiesque eyes, slouched hunched walk, never sees anyone who needs serving, (you can't miss her) reacts to every question or request either with a sort of dumb indignation or a mindless slack grin. "Orange and lemonade please with no ice", (look of dumb indignation) it arrives and of course it has ice, all it knows is that it heard the word ice. "I did actually say no ice".....(mindless slack grin) Oh, and not to forget the quarterly treat when a few other family members turn up for a massive row/ fight (in full view of the customers of course) Why do I go there ? Hmmmm, good question…..God knows….. Seriously, I am NOT a grudge bearer who’s got some axe to grind etc. Everything I’ve written here is honestly as I see it to be.
