| This is a fine looking building when you arrive and the Palmers beer is well kept and has a wide choice. The beer is very expensive by Somerset rural standards, as is the food. The big fire in winter is very welcoming and the garden is pleasant if not exactly huge. To be brutally honest, the worst problem with this pub is the landlord's wife - she is totally unsuited to bar work as she is unfriendly, unwelcoming, monosyllabic on some occasions, or if she decides to argue with you, virtually verbally unstoppable. Sometimes she can be mildly unwelcoming, other times just downright rude. So beware - if you would like a nice pint of well kept Palmers beer in pleasant surroundings, but don't mind a terrible atmosphere with a woman with all the charm and hospitality of a hand grenade then come on down to the Rose and Crown at East Lambrook.
