A fairly nondescript outside hardly prepare you for the delights that wait inside. Two rooms, one wood panelled, the other with white walls, both with stripped pine furniture, with trophies won by the pub dart team and letters of thanks from charities for fundraising efforts, make this a pleasant enough local. The real delight is the beer from the Hop Back brewery in Wiltshire. Headed by the excellent Summer Lightening, the choice extends tto GFB, Entire Stout, and a seasonal range from the Donnington brewery, the tasty Elderquad being the offering on my visit. Bottles of the whole range of Hop Back beers are available, as are4 pint carry outs, minipins and polypins if you are throwing a party. A real gem in a sea of otherwise mediocre boozers.
