| What a transformation! I've been using this lovely pub for 40yrs and over the last few it's gone down hill badly. Now Jane has taken over and been there only 5 weeks. She is a lovely lady who is putting her very heart and soul into the place. 3 weeks ago I was the only person in the old bar - now I cant get a seat! | Nice location and we thought it would be nice to take the dog, have a bite to eat outside in the sun with a drink. We were served something which the landlady tried to pass as food.......when it eventually came...although I would class it as something that came out of a dogs bottom, literally. We ordered soup, which was nice once the thick layer of skin was penetrated. Lamb kebabs, which is where my reference to dogs comes from. Chicken, pasta & cream and by cream I mean water. Chicken Tikka with poppadoms and mango dip. And the water theme carried on, the mango dip was like water, we found out that they did this because they had ran out. We mentioned this to the waitress and she said she'd get a new 1, but it never came, then when we found her again she came back saying they'd run out. All of the poppadoms were burned on 1 half. I noticed that other customers were being served food that was far below standard, commenting that various dishes were burned. My partner asked for a discrete word with the manager who basically said that because we had ate some of the food (despite being kept waiting for well over 45 mins, and the waitress never coming back to us) all she would offer was an apology, nothing more. In addition to this, we had to find the waitress to ask where the food was, ask for cutlery (which was placed straight on the table which was outside, and every piece was dirty) and chase her for the dishes that made up our meal. | Nice pub to have a drink in by the canal, but whatever you do, don't eat there, terrible prepacked frozen food that tastes worse than cardboard. Very disappointed!!![Report for Removal] | ben parker stone staffs |

| Great pub! Right next to the canal lock in Stone. On a summer evening you candrink outside and watch the barges passing through the lock. Food is very good.[Report for Removal] | Mike Stone Staffs |
