We have been visiting The Dolphin since the new landlords have taken over, although the food is excellent we are disappointed that certain choices are off the menu and taken over too much by the italian cuisine. The West Country Chicken was far the best and enjoyed by many, also no Yorkshire Puddings with roast chicken! Recently we have now discovered you are not offering Merlot by the glass only if you buy a bottle for £16.00 - (we don't think so - wait until we get home). [Report for Removal] Ann & Robert

My wife and I returned here after finding it wasn't our kind of pub many years ago. Oh yes, what a remarkable change, the food is brilliant, although we do find the portions are too big for us,(pensioners you know!!) The staff are friendly and efficient, but we do take exception to being addressed as 'you guys'. We are not in the U.S.A. thankfully! That apart, it's well worth a visit. Used to be a great pub with excellent food. What a shame that since it has changed hands it has become a yobbish pub, lots of foul language. How colud the brewery let it get into such a state. Wont be going there again![Report for Removal] David Jacks

Oh dear. What a shame that in the 12 months that this establishment has been managed by a new landlord the standard of service has hit rock bottom. Had a meal there recently , horrible outside yobbery going ,on accompanied by atrocious language. Seems to be full of young lager louts. Wont be going back. Come back Rob and Tina!![Report for Removal] Dave

Hadn't been here for a while, since the place became a restaurant. Decided to try it out and wasn't disappointed, still has delusions oif catering to an upper class clientele. Landlord/staff are not interested if all you want is a soft drinl. Order of the day seems to be you must eat and have a beer. Not my cup of tea. Needs a kick up its ass, used to be goo, what happened? [Report for Removal] darius

Oh dear haven't been in here for a while and it shows. Where did the old Chef go and why? The meal we had wasn't a patch on the the ones they used to serve, it is a sad fact to say this Pub has dropped down the league. I used to look forward to coming and visiting friends in Gillingham and having a meal here but alas that will not be the case in the future. One of the locals said the chef was now working in Mere I think I will have to seek out the establishment he is working for.[Report for Removal] John Fawcett
