| I visited this pub whilst on holiday recently. The food was excellent, traditional and tasty. They had cycle hire there too. The staff were brilliant and I would defo recommend it.[Report for Removal] | Mr M Royle southampton hampshire |

| We had an excellent steak here over the weekend. The kids meals were great value too and the kids loved the Sticky BBQ Ribs! The staff here were the friendliest we had come accross in the forest whilst holidaying there. The staff and landlady made us feel so welcome that we will definatley go back and I would highly recommend them for food. They seem to have loads of offers including wine and various food "theme" nights at reasonable prices. [Report for Removal] | Mrs Payne cardiff south wales |

| We wanted good pub grub but what we got was pretty near inedible. The 'shared starter' of nachos came in a dish covered in a leathery melted cheese under which was olives, old soggy nacho crisps, chillies, etc. There was a small side dish of sour cream and salsa. We expected something we could nibble while we waited for our main course but what we got was a horrible stodgey mess which we didn't even know how we were expected to eat. I thought I'd be fairly safe with steak and chips for main course. I asked for 'medium' steak but it came overcooked, no sign of a 'red' line through the middle. It was not good quality either so I left much of it. My Husband had a similarly cooked meal and to say our evening out was a dissapointment was the understatement of the year. We were not given a breakdown of the meal cost but were staggered at the bill but I was embarrassed and upset by this time and just wanted to leave, so didn't ask for a breakdown. I can only think that 2 pints of Ringwood and two Barcadi's with a splash of coke cost us around £15! We will not be eating or drinking here again and will warn others off it as well.[Report for Removal] | Mrs Davies Southampton Hampshire |

| lets just say it certinly wasnt happy and very cheesed off with the happy cheese. £4.50 for a glass of wine? wot? we ordered trout on a bad of leeks and spinach with sutaid potatoes and got a cold bit of dry trout with broccoli, carrots & boiled potatoes that looked like they had been laying around for weeks! huh? the service was less then average, ud think that in the credit crunch they would be trying to hold onto customers, not repel them![Report for Removal] | Saffi newport isle of wight |
