This is the 'flag ship'bozzer of Hall & Woodhouse which is apt as it sits on the Hamble (Yes Howard's way). For me it's best in the Winter when the crowds die down and you can get to the bar. Park in the Station and take a walk to save yourself the pain of finding a parking space. I always drink the HB Premium larger here but their real ales are first class. Not a 'locals' pub. The food is slightly expensive but I suppose you are paying for the great views of the marina. The lads and I like this place as it attracts some of the best looking women in the area and you can dream of what it would be like to have the money the 'yellow welly' crowd have.[Report for Removal] BARRY TAYLOR

Fabulous location, but the service was appalling, we waited for over an hour for a so-called roasted vegetable salad which was HOT! With tinned hot tomatoes, and an indifferent burger with half-cooked chips. Our complaint to the management was not taken seriously. I will never eat there again and we have kept our boat in a neighbouring boatyard for over 20 years.... [Report for Removal] Anne

Lovely place! The views, the setting, the interior... The food was amazing and my husband commented on how well they kept their ales. A previous poster said they were child unfriendly. We did not experience this, visiting with a 4 month old baby who didn't exactly keep quiet! No one batted an eyelid and there was another family at a table nearby. Most pubs with childrens' licences require kids to leave by 9pm, so this is not unusual. I would definitely go back, even though it's quite a walk down some pretty steep steps to get there! Arrived with family thinking this looked like a great pub to sit out, have a good meal with the children and enjoy the views. Arrived at 7.15pm ordered food which took an hour to arrive, ok so very busy we didn't mind the wait. The children then wanted desert, went to order at 8.45. They refused to take order as we had children with us under the age of 14. Children have to leave the premises by 9.00pm. They said it was the "law". They didn't have a written notice or anything else to tell us this when we arrived. Just refused service and said we had to leave, despite the fact we were still having our meal. We were in the garden with very well behaved children age 10 & 8. Very unfriendly pub towards anybody with children, but of course dogs are welcome!! Don't bother to visit its not worth it.[Report for Removal] ALISON BRIXEY

Being right on the water, this is a beautiful location for romantic evenings or just a quiet drink. Used in the series 'Howards Way' and all the buildings around, like the boatyard etc., you can imagine yourself years back. A beautiful pub, and refurbished really tastefully to keep its ambiance. The outside seating is just fantastic, in the chilly evenings there are outdoor heaters, a very long outdoor undercover seating all year round, so you actually feel you are on the water as it juts out along with the potoon. Anyone can come along for free and tie up. A great place in the summer and a cosy place in the winter, this really is a good all rounder in a beautiful setting. The meals are very good as well.[Report for Removal] Annie Ambrose
