| Welcoming family run pub opposite the fire station offering Greene King IPA (£2.50) Old Speckled Hen (£2.75) and GK XX Mild Ale (£2.30)Fosters (£2.75)and Stella (£3.20) Six wines by the glass. Excellent home cooked food using local produce. Served from 12noon-3pm and 6pm -9pm The watercress and ale sausages with mash, onion gravy and veg was amazing and a good price £8.95 I was told the trout was fresh that morning and again was cooked perfectly and was priced at £9.95. Large car park, comfortable lounge with nice gentle music. free internet access is available if you have a laptop. Lots of magazines and newspapers and information about the local area. Non smoking dining room - probably worth booking a table as there are only 25 covers. The tables are spread out so you are not on top of each other. Just a few minutes from the Watercress Line railway and the shops. If you eat in the pub they also let you leave your car in the car park which is a bonus as parking in Alresford can be a problem. We will be visiting again and would highly recommend this pub.
