| I am a complete Ludite when it comes to modern technology, but on our way home to Milton Keynes from Somerset on Sunday 12.2.12 I asked my son to Google on his phone somewhere nice to break our journey and get a bite to eat. I am so glad I did this! What a wonderful pub! Unpretentious and just serving delicious food in a clean, friendly, homey environment. Amazing! We all had the lamb roast, with my husband and son opting for the apple crumble for pudding, while I had the treacle pudding. Absolutely delightful! Very generous portions and reasonably priced! | I had lunch today 16 April 2010 at The Crown Inn. Three of us had the Fish and Chips and one belly pork. All were simply excellent. The batter on the fish was really light and the fish perfect. The rustic chips were delicious and the mushy peas, although very mushy, were fantastic ... sure there was butter in there but we didn't care. The tartare sauce was homemade and sublime. My friend very much enjoyed her pork belly and was impressed with the selection of vegetables. | 9/03/10.Myself and 3 friends ate at the Crown last night since it reopened it's doors just a week ago.The chef's mum was behind the bar and seems very pleassnt and has a sense of humour ,a nice lady.Food was well presented and was Very good.Service was not slow.We can vouch for ,the pate,(only one starter)fish and chips,belly of pork with crackling(which had all of the fat removed) and the lamb.We where too full to have deserts.Prices of the food was fair ,not too expensive.House wine is £12.95 a bottle.Drinks prices are very similar to The Prince of Wales and The Barrington.Only 6 others eating that night( A Tuesday) but it is early days for the NEW owners whom we wish them every success and we will be back again,soon..
