| Having visited this pub many times I am shocked to have to write such a poor review but after the treatment and standard of food last night I feel this pub should be ashamed. We were greeted and found a table. On ordering the food one of our guests had asked for soup for the main course so we requested a larger portion - we were told this was not possible, when the starters arrived we were impressed with the standard of food and enjoyed soup, the combo to name a few. then the main course arrived - this is where it all went wrong: The Cod was full of bones and very greasy The Soup tasted nothing like the previous bowl - it was very salty. When this was raised with the staff, we were told - it came from the same pot and if we wanted another one we would have to wait. I would not have expected to be treated like this - there was no apology or offer of alternative. from that moment on we were ignored by the staff - eventually the table was cleared (I might add the pub was not busy), a dessert menu left on the table and when we left we weren't even acknowledged. so much for a friendly, welcoming and professional establishment. | We've eaten at the Freke many times over the last 12 months and every meal has been tasty, well cooked, well presented and generous in portion size. Would thorougly recommend the food at this pub and it's certainly worth a visit. [Report for Removal] | Denise Curtis Swindon Wilts |
