| We have been a couple of times and found the service slow.The food portions were small so we asked for more meat which was good. But 22/11/09 the meat was poor, it was tough and fatty, the yorkshire was uncooked, but the veg was good. Its expensive to pay £9 for poor meat which I would have only given to the dog.The wine was average. When asked if the food was ok our remarks were coldly taken and reported to the kitchen. | This pub has a lovely,cosy atmosphere, candles on the tables,a log fire and the bar staff are friendly. Such a shame about the food. I think the menu maybe a lttle ambitious for the cook. What you get is not entirely what you're expecting from the description on the menu. Some strange concoctions, starter was really odd. Our meat choice for a main was very over-cooked and dry, the veg didn't appear to be fresh it looked old and tired. We have eaten here a few times, but on the last two visits have been disappointed. We did tell the bar staff when asked, that we didn't enjoy our meal, but no response, nothing. | Nice, quiet, relaxed pub with good atmosphere and not too smoky! All tables have lit candles and there is an open fire. Restaurant area looks lovely but have not yet tried food.[Report for Removal] | V McDougall swindon Wilts |
