| New owners at the Fox, Broughton Gifford, have created a stylish and comfortable atmosphere in this pub restaurant. It already seems to have a following of locals who appreciate Alex's warm welcome. Everywhere, there are nice touches and a mature garden for outside drinking and eating. Leather sofas and newspapers are very inviting if you are just having a couple of drinks. The dining area is nicely decorated with both modern photography and interesting antique items. The menu is limited, but with all locally sourced produce, which suited us. The chef creates tasty dishes which are simple and interesting at the same time. We had a lovely potted crayfish and crab starter. There was both fresh lobster and local matured fillet steak on the menu when we visited, plus a vegetarian option which was quite tempting, even to a carnivore! Puddings are home made and there is a good selection of dessert wines by the glass, which makes a lovely change! | First, please punctuate your sentences below; it is not one sentence. Secondly, we ate a snack lunch at The Fox today. It was OK, but a still lime drink came, not with tap water but with Scottish water in a glass bottle. Consider the waste of energy in transporting a small glass bottle to Wiltshire and also the money to me who had to pay for bottled water when tap water tastes exactly the same in lime juice. | Very good mix of food, nice beer and wine selection, no loud music or fruit machines. Always chance to try something new,(esp fish and puddings) staff cater to your needs, If you want to know about a dish they will be happy to help, Geoff the Chef(tm) often pops out for a chat.
