| The White Horse Inn is not just a wonderful traditional English pub, it is also an outstanding restaurant which is Les Routiers accredited, as well as being a very comfortable and affordable place to stay. Tara and Danny are the most hospitable hosts and the locals, too, are very friendly. Situated in the lovely village of Compton Bassett, the pub also has its own field at the back where the antics of the sheep, geese and pigs are an added bonus! | This place is now excellent. The range of beer is superb, when we went they had 6X, Directors, Bombardier, Caffreys and "Piddle on the Wyre". Apparently they get a different guest beer every couple of weeks. The wine list was excellent as well. They were great with the children. We had an evening meal, they are also doing a "Credit Crunch Lunch" with 2 courses and tea/coffee afterwards for £10, so we will be going back by ourselves this week.
