| Well, as the Red Bandolier, I re-visited the Bridge last weekend, I can say that the welcome was far better! The signs are still there, but now they are designed to put a smile on your face. Little anecdotes in the toilets, even customer feedback forms on the tables. Much improved service. The drinks are a little pricey... (and at £7:50 for a baguette, so was the food) but where aren't they? The Bridge is off my exclusion list. [Report for Removal] | The Red Bandolier Calne Wiltshire |

| The Bridge has all the attributes to be very good. Positioned in the country next to the canal, it’s good for boaters, cyclists and walkers. But while the food and beer is OK, the overwhelming first impression you get is the multitude of signs telling you what, and what not, to do. Switch off your mobile, take off your boots, do this, do that… there’s a sign for every eventuality. And while I agree with most of the sentiment, I object to being ordered, without the use of the words ‘Please’ or ‘Thank You’. We know this pub as ‘The Sign’, rather then ‘The Bridge’. I believe this pub has just under gone a change of management (I’m writing this in July 2008). I’m hoping the new custodians might demonstrate some more welcoming people skills.
