| Current management intent upon removing regulars who have supported this pub for years. Petition details below. Petition. Dear Sirs. As the core base of regular, and long term, customers at The Bulls Head, most of whom are daily visitors, we wish to register our objections to the current directives being forced upon us. It is grossly offensive to be ordered not to stand in the bar area when consuming drinks purchased on the premises. We do appreciate that at times, when the demands are high, that access to the bar/ordering area are necessary, and as such, as has been demonstrated in the past, we vacate space to assist. In escalation of the situation, the introductions of new furnishings, which have been found to be uncomfortable and not suitable for long periods of use. We find the draconian attitude being adopted by the current management of this establishment to be insulting to your core customer base in wet sales. In fact a recent comment by the manager, stating that “certain types of person” were not welcome, was grossly unprofessional, especially as it was directed towards an individual for no definitive reason. Having had chance to now adjust to the ‘new look’ of the premises, generally it is aesthetically pleasing. However, there are obvious signs of corner cutting and what appear to be quite serious issues in relation to Health and Safety. The decision to completely remove the facility to have news updates and access to certain sporting events with a television, has, too say the least, angered many customers. We were advised that this would be reinstalled in a rear area of the premises after the refit. Subsequently, your core base regular customers now have to take there trade elsewhere at certain times, when seeking such facilities. Ultimately resulting in loss of trade to your premises. We would therefore respectfully request the right to stand at a public bar to consume our purchases, the right to be addressed in a polite and professional manner and be able to apply our own common sense in these issues as opposed to being ordered around like minors. And the facility, as was promised, to have access to news and sports information. We are certain that adopting a more relaxed attitude by management will enable both parties to continue to develop the long term relationship, wherein providing continued support of the premises and its turnover.
