| we went for sunday lunch... big mistake. I waited for 5 minutes for anybody to appear to serve me at the bar, and no, the pub wasn't heaving, there were about 10 diners and 4 or 5 drinkers. We ordered for the 3 of us and were told it would be about 20 minutes. While waiting we realised there were only a man and his wife working with their 8yr old running in and out of the kitchen and behind the bar. the drinkers were getting frustrated as they had to keep waiting for service and we heard 2 seperate diners complaining about their food. Our soup arrived after 20 minutes and my wife's parsnip "soup" was obviously pureed parsnip which firstly was so thick it was "piled" up like mash potato and secondly was cold (not even warm)she had to ask for it to be heated up, meanwhile the 8 yr old was running around fetching salt and pepper and cuttlery (poor sod ). we ate the soup and waited another 20 minutes for our mains. my sond burger was dry and black (including the bun and his potato wedges looked like a mixture of the scrapings you get from a deep fat fryer with an odd onion ring and something long and hollow which we couldn't identify, my wife's potato "cubes" were the same with lots of pieces that were just fat and no potato. we got up and left, just paid for the soup. won't be going back, tried the king's head down the road which was excellent.[Report for Removal] | eddie macclesfield cheshire |
