| My father was an American Air Corps veteran of World War II who was stationed for a time in Nuthampstead. Last summer, he, as well as my brother, nephew and I, were on holiday in England and Normandy and had the pleasure of a stay at The Woodman. Dad helped dedicate the memorial there the year before and was a past guest. Wonderful accomodations and fare, (and excellent cask ales!). Delicious English cooked breakfasts. Set in the beautiful and historic countryside of Hertfordshire. Perhaps the only thing better was the hospitality provided by innkeepers Ian and Sandy and the memorable evenings spent with dear English friends. Sadly, my father passed the following Fall.
