| We have been ther on several occasions and the setting is great for lunch and dinner, food was good an well presented, staff are very helpfull. We did visit for lunch one sunday with my 2 year old grandaughter, the garden was just right for her with some exploring in the woods as well. | The re furb looks great and we were hoping this would be reflected in the food. got to say a bit disappointed.we turned up to an almost empty restaurant early saturday with no reservation and were shown a table near the open door and told it was needed by 8 not a good start. Service was slow in the bar even when trying to order a meal. Duck salad had lots of iceberg but little duck, beef with mixed roast veg was very big on boiled carrots and only two small slices of beef. Both meals turned up in 10 minutes which begs the question is it made from scratch !! I would love this modern pub with great log fires to be my local but they need to try much harder to get it right.they really do need to shorten the menu and use fresh seasonal produce to make it so much better and I would be happy to go back.[Report for Removal] | john harper welwyn garden city herts |

| A group of 6 of us, all looking for high standards when we eat out, visited this pub last evening. The atmosphere and the setting were lovely, the food was excellent and the service friendly without being intrusive. The food reperesented good value for money - our bill, including wine and beers worked out at around £22 per head. I would take no notice at all of the review submitted by Jackie of Ware, although I had read it before we went. | Visited recently to clebrate a birthday. Haven't been there since it's refurb. Very disappointed. Food over priced and not too special. Menu states stuffed mushrooms ..... but don't get too excited we were served ONE medium sized mushroom for the sum of £4.50. Roast beef dinner was not much better. Roast spuds were hard and beef chewy. There was very little atomosphere and overall not much to write home about.[Report for Removal] | Jackie Ware Herts |
