| This is the 3RD year we have stayed in newport and have had our meals quite often in the Royal Oak, What has happened to your service andquality of food we had oursunday lunch on 18th sept 2011 the roast potatoes were like bricks we ecepted that because previously the food has been good. We booked the 22nd of Sept for mothers 83rd birthday, has we did for her birday last year,it was a disaster the was no record of our reservation the food took an hour and a half our sweet did not turn upand we left bitterly diapointed. We will be back next year but will not be eating in the Royal Oak[Report for Removal] | Steven Radjenovic Abergavenny Monmouthshire |

| Really the worst pub meal I have had in a very long time. I waited 35 minutes for a bacon and melted cheese baguette and chips. The bacon was tasteless, the cheese was not properly melted and also tasteless and the chips were undercooked, pale, hard and greasy. Really very bad. And the pub was cold and unwelcoming, definately one to avoid.[Report for Removal] | Ruth Swansea West Glam |

| Lovly food, good service and nice atmosphere would be coming back. I dont belive the comments below. they must have had a attitude problem if the staff were like that to them. i had the sausage mash and gravy and it was lovly and not instant. anyone who see this you must go and try it out for your self then leave a comment.. i'm giving this place A*.. | Went for a weekday lunch on a rainy August day and found some of the most surly and unpleasant staff I have ever encountered in a pub. They got our food order wrong and only very reluctantly put it right; the barman and waitress exuded bad attitude throughout. The food was OK for the most part but no more, and the ale was over-chilled. My main problem is with the poor customer service, which was inexcusable in a village like Newport which presumably relies on tourist trade for most of its business. Avoid - there are much nicer pubs around here.[Report for Removal] | andy Cheltenham Glos |

| 7.99 for sausage, mash, peas and gravy. 2 mediocre sausages, the cheapest, rather unpleasant frozen peas, instant gravy, reasonable but under seasoned mash. Dismal. [Report for Removal] | Jo Mortimer Crymych Pembs |
