| This pub has featured prominantly in my life, and many others of a certain age in the locale. As a child a great Summer weekend treat was walking up to the Bear with my parents to see...a real life Bear. Poor thing used to be fed crisps and was taunted by us kids whilst the parents were inside the pub getting hammered. Happy days! Now of course, the Bear and peacocks and other animals have gone. There is still a glorious garden and the pub is large and well positioned. Unfortunately, when I have been there in recent years it seems to be staffed by people who couldn't care less. You often have to wait ages for food that is badly cooked and the one real ale is often 'off'. Bring back Tracey and Barry indeed.[Report for Removal] | HornchurchJohn Hornchurch Essex |
