| Absolutely awful! Used to eat here alot prior to change of management and it was a family friendly place serving very good, reasonably priced food. Unaware it had changed we went last weekend for sunday lunch. It was terrible! Service was extremely poor! On arriving we were told we should have booked first despite the fact that whilst there the place was half empty? We waited over an hour for our food and when it came it was stone cold! We sent it back but when returned the food wasnt really any hotter!! The meat was very poor quality and of the two slices of beef I got I could only eat one slice as the other was just grizzle! Please avoid this place. | Since the refurb the Red Lion looks fab, tastefully decorated and the food is delicious. So, you must be thinkingwhy have I given it a below average rating, this is based purely on the service which is terrible. I have been in there 4 times in the last 2 months to eat and each time the service has been dreadful, one Friday night we waited 45 minutes for a drink order to be placed and 2 hours for our main courses ! | The Red Lion has being transformed! UNDER NEW OWNERSHIP, and after a massive refurbishment is now fully open. The decor is beautiful, the food is delcious and home-cooked and the service is wonderful... It's only being opened approximatly 5 weeks but having lived in the village for 20 years and never using The Red Lion because of its old repuation..... | One Monday night my husband and I went for a casual meal, which was huge, home cooked and fantastic. So impressed were we that we took the whole family on my mothers 80th on a Sunday and it we waited and waited to be served with very disapointed meals for everyone with a frozen desert, though that was taken off the price at the end. We know it will be opening soon after some refurbishment?
