| Friendly welcoming atmosphere, although a bit quiet on a Monday evening. Locals very friendly. Tried food on Tues - the hotspot special - excellent value, plenty to eat, very tasty. | This pub advertises rooms available so while visiting the area I booked a room for Saturday night. On the positive side the room was clean and warm but the facilities and general condition of the accomodation were sub standard, and did not even meet what I would consider minimum requirements when paying £55 per night. I have stayed in hotels and guest houses where they provided excellent standards and included breakfast for a lot less than that. The room in Falmouth Arms, although clean needed a lot of improvements. The curtains did not adequately cover the windows but left gaps and the net curtains were torn and shabby, the TV picture was not tuned in properly, there was no bedside lighting, no toilet roll in the loo, wallpaper peeling off the wall above the radiator. In addition to this it was not possible to sleep because of excessive noise. The room was above the car park and the lack of double glazing meant that every customer of the pub could be heard leaving, the last being at 12.30 am. There was a lot of noise inside the pub until 1.30 am. All in all it was a very unpleasant experience.
