| It is worth posting that this pub is under new management and has been for a few months now. The new team running it are extremely professional in their approach and keep their ales in excellent condition. They are a breath of fresh air to a pub that should otherwise have been closed down by the heath inspectors. | 4th bad meal in a row there. Why do we go back? Beacuse it is now the only pub in walking distance that allows dogs. We will NOT be eating there again, however. Tiny portions of meat. The last gammon steak was 2.5 inches by 3 inches at best. Tonight's corn on the cob was overcooked and only about a third of a cob. Coleslaw was listed as part of the meal and there may have been a desert spoon of it. Only just qualifies with the trade descriptions act by serving 2 onion rings (well the menu did say rings plural). Last time I ordered fish and chips there (the menu says freshly battered cod) it was a shaped frozen fish portion from an Iceland freezer cabinet. We twice asked for the manager to come to our table to both see and discuss what we were served, but he was too busy. In the 45 minutes he avoided us he had to serve at most 3 customers at the bar. | Miserable bar staff apart from the Irish chap. Food is tolerable but they often stop serving early so it is wise to book. If you don't like swearing and hairy builders this is not the place for you. [Report for Removal] | Allen Taylor Bracknell Berkshire |

| Got a booking from the manager to play music at this pub with my band and planned to bring along some friends and sample the food and drink also. Got a last minute cancellation from the manager with no reason and suffered a barage of abuse from the owner. So never got a chance to comment on the pub overall but if the current management is anything to go by stay clear.! | I have just got back to work from what was a terrible lunch time experience. The food took ages, when it got me it was wrong. I asked for a tuna and cheese jacket potato. I got baked beans and cheese. I very politley complained and asked for it to go back and be changed. It took another 20 minutes, and when it came back it was wrong yet again. It was now tuna and baked beans! When I asked for a refund (because I had no time of my lunch left and I had to get back to work!) They at first said no - and offered me a free drink instead - simply NOT good enough and I would not recommend this pub to anyone.
