| After spending three years away from Lambourn and then I return to find my local pub transformed into the most amazing place! Not only are you greated by friendly staff but the beers and wines are all super chilled, the food in top nosh and the nights out are superior to a night i have experienced in a long time! | Well!!!!, what a find, country pub, ideal setting, set in the heart of the race horse county. Warm friendly welcome, service great and the food lovely. I would recommend this wonderful place to anyone looking for a great day out or weekend stay. This quality is hard to find. | THE NEW IMPROVED MALT SHOVEL, is absolutly wonderful. My sister and I stayed in one of their new bedrooms they are sooooooooo comfortable and well specked, underfloor heating what a delight. Very reasonably priced woke up to the sound of horses clip clopping past so different from the usual lorry sounds of london. | What a find, wonderful country pub so relaxing and friendly. We walked in soaked after deciding we would have a day out in the county walking, thought we would be safe in AUGUST. The pub was lovely and warm and the staff took our coats to dry. Locals were really friendly and told us all about the local history. We stayed and had a superb lunch everything cooked to perfection, my steak was melt in your mouth and the veg was just the right side of crunchy. My partner had a wonderful home cooked guiness and ale pie, perfect lunch. The staff are obviously very proud of their pub and took the time to show us their new accomodation. | Top notch nosh, freshly cooked and served by lovely staff. I have become a regular visitor to the malt shovel especially since its refurb and enjoyed its relaxed ambience and friendly locals. As I travel for work its very refreshing to have somewhere individual and welcoming to stay in. | The food was so bad in this place that we almost wet ourselves laughing!! You know when it's not disgusting but everything about it is poor quality, and the product of a lazy chef who knows that he is sending out bad tasteless cuts of meat, badly cooked veg, terrible yorkshire puddings and diabolical puddings!! The ice cream was even terrible! My kids did not even recognise the cream served on the revolting apple crumble as cream!! The cauliflower was so over cooked that my husbands mouth flooded with water before he even took his first chew!! Mmmm nice!! [Report for Removal] | MEHARG Hildenborough KENT |
