| This pub has new owners who are very welcoming and friendly and who serve delicious pub food. The pub has the advantage of having two cosy traditional bars plus a large dining room at the back which gives a lovely view of Bodmin Jail across the valley. They also have a small deck area and a pub garden. They have a carpark at the back but it is difficult to find the access off the road to the jail, however there is parking along Higher Bore Street. We found this pub whilst visiting Bodmin and searching for somewhere to have a pub lunch and download e-mails, etc. as where we were staying had no internet signal. | Unfortunately the managers of this pub came to Cornwall with the wrong idea. "We've never been to Cornwall before and we're coming here for an easy life" was the first thing they said. They had not done their homework and, as a result, Enterprise Inns who own the freehold, closed the doors yesterday - 2nd Jan 2008. No business sense, no acumen and frightened of the general public, their failure has angered the locals and community alike. Let's hope that Enterprise Inns start doing their homework and send someone local who actually wants to be in the business. [Report for Removal] | O'Leary Bodmin Cornwall |
