| We always visit the Cornish when we return to Tavistock from the USA, as we originally come from Cornwall. The menu is excellent with so much choice and is very reasonably priced. The food is always plentiful and hot, especially the Mexican dishes! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and we love the new outdoor area and look forward to our return in the summer. The addition of the leather sofas and coffee tables allowed us to be very comfortable. We visit many English Pubs and this is definitely amongst our favourites.[Report for Removal] | Alan and Rose Harvey Davenport Florida, USA |

| Tavistock needs a new pub, or at least a complete renovation of one of the current ones. The Cornish is one of the busier pub in town but the beer is overpriced and flat, food is poor value and has delusions far beyond what it is. Complaints to the seemingly incompetent management are dismissed and other bar staff seem unable to help - although they do at least have a good sense of humour. Beer garden at the back is basically a car park, and flies come out of the toilets and end up in your drink. One can assume the only reason there are any customers in this pub is due to the lack of competition in town. A chain pub would close this place down in a matter of weeks.[Report for Removal] | Paul Tavistock Devon |

| I have eaten and had drinks at the Cornish Arms many times. This is because there are not many places to eat on a budget in tavistock. The food is variable. They seem to think they can cook "food from around the world" and cram as many dishes on their menu as possible. The problem with this seems to be that the chefs are not experienced enough in such a range of foods. I have found their more traditional pub meals (steaks, burgers, scampi, pizzas etc) are more reliable. The beer is pretty good and service is generally very good and friendly, unless you have the misfortune of being served by the grumpy old man who is rude and clueless. There is a pool table but you are unlikely to get on it because the local chavs are in control of it! There is a good beer garden which benifits from being a great sun trap. In summary, not a fantastic pub but it's not the worst in the world! Probably the best all rounder in Tavistock, but considering the other pubs in Tavistock that's not a great accolade! Despite my slightly negative report, I go there often so they must be doing something right![Report for Removal] | Alex Kerr Tavistock Devon |
