| Situated on the B3254, this place is primarily a food pub and is apparently popular with locals and visitors alike, and certainly when we went it was busy, but Lord knows why - maybe it is the prominant location, perhaps its living on past reputation, or maybe we just went on a bad day, but for me this place was decidedly average. Our visit featured a grouchy "welcome" from the miserable sod of a landlord, inept and amateur waiting staff, and very mediocre and over-priced food. They even got round the hassle of having to cook my wife's steak by coming up with the "stone-cooked" gimmick, whereby they bring out a hot stone and expect you to cook the steaks yourself on that. Thats probably good fun for some; its just a shame they hadnt come up with a way to stop our faces cooking at the same time from the heat.
