| My boyfriend and I went to The Villager for our Tea one evening and noticed that they had an offer of " 2 meals for £10" I ordered the Giant Yorkshire pudding with sausages, chips and gravy, my boyfriend ordered chilli, rice and salad. Our meals arrived 10 minutes later and my boyfriends was a scoop of chilli on a plate full of greasy chips. I tried to get the attention of the waitress who was too busy talking to the chef outside who was smoking to even notice any of the customers, as she came back in, i walked up to her and politely explained that my boyfriend had asked for rice not chips, she replied well you'll have to wait til the chef has finished his cig! I was absolutely fuming. The chef then came back in and said what seems to be the problem and we said that we had ordered rice not chips, he then brought out a seperate bowl with rice in it. By this point the smll scoop of chilli had sunken into the greasy chips. Shocked, i went to find the waitress who was, again, outside chatting and explained that all the chilli was mixed up in the chips and she replied smirking "what do u want me to do about it?" so i explained that i would like her to take the meal away and bring us a plate of chilli con carne with rice and salad, no chips. So she stormed over picked up the plate, stormed into the kitchen with it and brought out what we had originally ordered, there was no apolgies, she just put the plate down and said " there you go." I have no problem with people making a mistake and getting the order wrong, it is the way that it was handled that i have the problem with. I have never ever in my life been smirked while saying " what do you want me to do about it" she should know what to do about it, and i should not have had to ask for them to get rid of the chips. I have worked in several different eating pubs and i now work for a nationally recognised footwear company and if any of our staff ever spoke to a customer in that manner they would have had some form of disciplinary treatment. Shocking food, shocking, customer service and rubbish beer! DO NOT PART WITH YOUR HARD EARNED CASH HERE![Report for Removal] | Kathryn Sherwood Castleford West Yorkshire |

| AVOID THIS PLACE TO SAVE YOUR DIGESTIVE TRACK FROM SERIOUS TRAUMA. the villager is a really horrible pub.the beer is both poor quality and expensive, the staff are rude and trained to swindle people(seemingly) the signage outside states £1.50 for a pint but unless you read the small print you will get charged £2.60 all in all the worst pub i have ever been in[Report for Removal] | mr not very happy worksop sheffield |
