I took my partner out for a romantic Valentine's Day meal to this pub I'd never been there before, but it sounded interesting from its press write-up. On arrival, we were totally ignored until an obviously harrassed waitress showed us to a table, where we waited for over 25 minutes while other, more recent customers were served. I was ready to walk out by then but my partner was determined to sit it out. In the meantime, two other couples had arrived and were treated to a similar long wait and like us, appeared to invisible to any passing waiting staff. In the end they both left in disgust but our starters had arrived by then and we carried on, thinking it was just a temporary glitch in the kitchen. The main course arrived after yet another long wait, with no apology forthcoming for the delay and was only moderate in quality. If you like cold mushrooms and processed peas it may have been passable, but for what we were paying it was very poor! If there was any saving grace, the desserts were OK, but were clearly bought in and microwaved. What was really appalling was when 'mine hostess'came into the restaurant area and sat down to chat with some regulars, turning her back on the rest of her clientele. I was fuming by this time and got up to put on my coat and leave, but incredibly, yet again nobody seemed to care and we left without having the menu-promised coffee and mints. Like a fool, I left payment on the now empty table, but it's one place I'll never visit again. [Report for Removal] Glanville Carleton

Went to this pub for a lunchtime meal. The menu is far too extensive, they have not learnt that it is better to do a little well rather than a lot poorly. The food was the worst example of English cuisine - soggy vegetables, overcooked fish swimming in an insipid sauce and a pretty disgusting garlic bread (I mean how difficult is it to do garlic bread?). Food did not look fresh and overall was a great disappointment. [Report for Removal] Steve
